Our Purpose
At Reseda Girls Build LA, our purpose is to encourage and promote women in stem careers. We also address a variety of other topics which include mental health awareness, poverty and spreading kindness. Our goal is to promote these topics to our school community and beyond, through presentations, campaigns, etc.
Mission Statement |
Our mission
Our mission for Reseda Charter High School's Girls Build La team, 2023-2024 is to improve the mental and physical well-being of children in the American foster care system and to further promote mental health awareness in children in foster care systems and orphanages. Coarse of Action for Project
We are currently making bracelets and other jewelry, which we are going to donate to local orphanages around our area. We also decided to make sea glass paintings to give out to the administration at Reseda as a way of spreading kindness.

Project Need
Over 390,000 children are in foster care nationwide. A staggering 80% of those children have significant mental health issues, compared to the approximate 20% of the general youth. It is our job to give our support and love to children who need it, because as a community, we all should look out for one another. All children should be allowed an encouraging atmosphere to understand the world and themselves. By giving them support, we can instill a positive influence on them and give them all the support and encouragement they need.

Activity and Updates 2024
We recently also decided to make sea glass paintings to give out to our administration.
So far we have made around 9-10 paintings and we have around 50 bracelets. We
plan on hosting a "Trash for Treasure" event where for every piece of trash picked at our school we give students a bracelet.
